On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the RACE-CARS Trial out of Duke University attempted to set the CPR world record (28,523 trained), ultimately training nearly 20,000 people in Hands-Only CPR across 30 participating counties in North Carolina — the most ever trained in a single day in the United States.
